Met up with some other backpackers at the hostel, who come from all over Europe, Australia, America, South America, Asia; also spoke to a women who had just arrived at the hostel, from travelling around Australia for 4 months. She is travelling around NZ for 1 month before heading back to Australia to work for a further 4 - 6 months to subsidies her travelling further, for up to a year. Depending on her funds she hopes to be back home by February next year which is remarkable to say the least. She asked for help to figure out a way of travelling around NZ in 1 month. I pointed her into the direction of the tourist information help desk @ Sky City, Auckland, since I had gone there the precious day to do my travel arrangements. She appreciated my help and glad to get something sorted out quickly since time was short. She comes from Hertfordshire, lives near St. Albans, just outside London. Very nice person to talk to and very mature for her age (24). I wished her a good journey ahead off her.
At the hostel there is a wide range of people travelling, working to fund their travelling, or working, this can range from 6 months (travelling) to 1  - 2 years (working/working to fund travelling), which is incredible when you listen to some of their stories. It is very inspiring.
