When a day's outdoor activities are interrupted by rain, what can you do? Visit Merimbula Aquarium, located at the end of Lake Street overlooking the Tasman Sea, wharf and Lake Merimbula.
The aquarium is home to a variety of sea creatures, all on display in over 20 salt and freshwater tanks. Finding flathead and sole hiding in the sand, watching clownfish dart in and out of anemones and moray eels peeking of pipes is a pleasant way to while away a wet afternoon.
While you are here, take the time to wander along the wharf, you may be lucky enough (as we were) to see a seal swimming around the pylons.
Afterwards you can sit and have a relaxing coffee at the Wharf Restaurant above the aquarium.
Entry to the aquarium is $13 per adult and $ per child.
