13/10/2009 - We had to get up really early to get the local bus to Tha Ton which is a tiny little town in the north of thailand between Chiang Mai and Chaing Rai. The bus took 4 hours in total and by the time we got to Tha Ton i was bursting to go for a wee so had to go in one of the locals lol it wasnt very pleasant! Nhoi took us to our hotel for the night which was a pleasant little bunglaow on the river surrounded by mountains. The views from here were very pretty.
After lunch we were meant to go for a walk to the temple which was located on top of one of the hills but it started to chuck it down and thunder and lightening so me a tom decided against and found lion king on the tv but it was in french so we didnt watch that for very long! For dinner the group decided to take a little walk into town, Nhoi tried to tell us to eat at the hotel but we said we would find something! Oh how wrong we were, the town consisted of the main road through it, the bus stop and a few local places. When we walked over the river we saw some lights so headed for those but as we got near we realised it was the locals having a party! next to it was a small restuarant so we went in there. Then headed back to the hotel for an early night.
