We are Sailing
Cheryl and I reluctantly set off from Kalbarri this morning. We decided to stop at Hutt River Provence on the way through. I was last there in 1978. The story of Hutt River is amazing in its own right, and in typical Australian fashion the underdog won. It was great reading the ATO assessments on show. They are classed as Non Residents. However, the country is a bit third world and run down.
We left Hutt River and went onto Northampton, and through to Geraldton. It was a very pleasant drive. Cheryl and I were in Geraldton in the mid eighties. It certainly has changed for the better. The foreshore development shows what can be done to dramatically improve a town. Bunbury take note!
We stopped at Skeetas restaurant on the foreshore for a nice meal of fish and chips, and a wine.
We then checked out our old house in Beresford, which has since been torn down and replaced with this new magnificent 2 story home. Then off to the Broadwater, to check in. Once we got into our unit, which is beautiful, we set about doing boring stuff like the washing. (since there was no time for anything else :( ) Once all that was done, we went down to latitude 28 for a few drinks and a meal. Real trendy place.
Tomorrow Cheryl and I are heading up to Port Gregory and Horrocks Beach. We will probably go via Chapman Valley and take in some of the scenery. Our son Luke is at Port Gregory fishing.
Time to get some sleep.
