We are Sailing
We all got a good nights sleep, and went down for breakfast at the Marina. The heat has been pretty stifling during our whole journey so far, but in Preveza it seems a little more humid. We are sweating so much, and all we do is drink heaps of water.
The yacht was still on the hardstand when we arrived, so there were a few minor jobs that had to be done, like fit the props that Brian had refurbished back in Australia. A couple of stainless steel straps, pull out all the bungs, steere clear of the wasps, and we were ready to get the boat in the water.
The marina people were dead on time, and picked the boat up at 11.00 a.m. to transport to the marina. The machine they used was really amazing, and all done by remote control. I have some pictures of this on my Iphone, but I cannot get them onto the blogg, because Apple doesn't support Flashplayer. :(
Never the less, we were able to get Flight 2 into the water without any hitches. Motor fired up first time, and we were ready to put it in the pen for further preparation. While the boys were doing all this, the girls were in town getting supplies for the trip. (though Stuart managed to get 6 cartons of beer at the Marina. You gotta know whats important!)
Once in the pen, we set about getting the mainsail organised, and all those other things sailors do, for which I have no idea. All I know is that the day was very busy, and quite long. We all couldn't wait to have our showers and get cleaned up, then go down to the bar for a few drinks and something to eat.
We then went back to the boat for our 'first' night. It also gave me some time to start catching up on these bloggs.
We all made a decision to stay at the Marina 1 more day, to check everyhing once again.
