We are still in Cairns and on fri we had one of our best days out yet. We started off by being picked up by a bus out the front of the park and were basically given a tour of Cairns as we were the first pickup of the day. The Kuranda train line was originally put in for the gold rush but now is a tourist train from Cairns to Kuranda. The train went through lots of tunnels and over heaps of bridges inc one bridge with the tightest curve for a train. We also stopped to have a look at a waterfall. Unfortunatlly for us we didnt have much time to have a look around Kuranda with its markets and animal parks as we had a timetable to stick to. After a quick cuppa we were on the Sky rail with its magnificent views all the way inc a stop at the waterfall (same one that the train stopped at but from the other side) and another stop for a rainforest walk. Once we stopped at the bottom it was back on a bus for a ride north to Hartley's Crocodile Adventure's.
At Hartleys we had a late lunch and headed for a snake show, the snake handler was very funny saying how more coconuts kill people in Australia than snakes so people should be more scared of coconuts. Next we had a boat ride around their lagoon showing us the crocs jumping out of the water and their biggest croc at over 5m long. After the boat ride it was over to watch a croc attack show where the handler was going to hand feed a croc called Hagrid. Unfortunatly for him Hagrid was in a bit of a mood and the handler bolted when he got close. We then had some time to walk around the park and see some of the other crocs and lizards until we made our way to watch the cassowary feeding. The cassowary's wern't that interested in their fruit as it was rat day and zoe was the only one brave enough to pick up a dead rat and feed it to them. Next was the koala feeding and the girls got to pat a koala. Then it was back on the bus to the park.
