So at last I get round to telling you about where I have been for the last two weeks.
The Great Ocean Road runs from Melbourne to Adelaide and is a part of Australia you wouldn't want to miss. There are many tours on offer but at the most they do it in only three days, I wanted more time to explore, so I decided to make my own way.
Now everyone recomends either that you hire a car or take a tour a public transport is not that good, well ti was fine for me.
Tuesday 20th February I left Melbourne by train to Geelong. I stayed in the only back packer place and let me tell you, boy was that an experience!! It was above a pub so there was always that lovely stale beer smell in the air (braught back memeries of working in a pub)! Bathroom, kitchen and dorm rooms were clean and great location for the town, so can't complain.
Arrived about lunch time, so after lugging my bag up two flights of stairs I wondered into the town. Found my way to the the bay and was pleasantly surprised as you will be able to see from the photos. So after a walk around the town I treated myself to a cappuccino and a massive piece of chocolate cake which was huge (photo in the album for all you cake lovers out there!) while looking over the bay, beautiful.
Not a great deal else to do in Geelong so the next day turned out to be great sun bathing weather so I walked along the board walk to the east beach where there is a sea swimming pool and a whole area for families to spend the day, so I settled there and read my book and just chilled out, bliss. (Photos explain it all).
