Well here we are on second of January and whats going on with the weather in Sydney? Yesterday and today its hot, hot, hot, but its sticky and thundery and very grey!
Spent the most wonderful night on N Y Eve down Loftus St near the bridge, eating Magnums, sat with the crowds awaiting for midnight, then WOW the fireworks!!! I got very emotional I must admit. Words dont do justice to the whole show. The amount of happy people all thronged together shows that the world is made up of peaceful folks of every nation, creed and colour. Its just a few idiots that ruin our world. There were hundreds of thousands of us after 15 mins of Oooooohs and Aaaaahs that smiled, shouted HAPPY NEW YEAR then turned and walked thru the streets of Sydney, back to our hotels and rooms. A superb night, beautifully done, thank you Sydney. We were very glad we were there.
Yesterday we needed to chill, its been a busy few days so we decided a Big Red Bus trip would be a great way to see the city easily. So we did the hop on, hop off bit for most of the day and saw the city and suburbs in between cuppas and wanders. At £15 for 24 hours gt value.
Today I had a pilgramage to make. I needed to see Bondi and remember the fun I had when it was my temporary home 10 years ago. I smiled as I saw the Bondi Hotel on Campbell Parade. Life has moved on, a fresh coat of paint for the hotel, a whole new time for me. Some sunbathing, a lovely swim, a seafood platter and it was time to return to our hotel to prepare for a night out ' on the town'
Bye 4 now xxx
