What a great day we have had. Very busy as we wanted to do as much as we could before leaving tomorrow.
We did the tour of Engelbrecht Caves, a huge complex of limestone caves under the city. 19 houses and 4 streets are on top of these caves.
We also toured the Tantanool Cave (a dolomite cave) filled with stalactites, stalagmites and helictites. We can all explain the differences!
The sinkholes of City Garden and Umpherston were a draw card to photograph in the full sun. As was the blue lake spectacular!
Trecked 200 mtrs to Centenary Tower. Kayce and I pretended it was A fairy tale castle. The view back over the city was nothing short of spectacular. You could see the outline of the volcanic craters which made up the the 4 lakes.
Also the rural view back to the ocean completed the 360 view.
A trip to the Lady Nelson Discovery Centre is must to visitors new to the town.
Very well done under sea world, wetlands, aboriginal history, geology and history of HMS Lady Nelson.
The girls even received a lucky dip for completing a quiz whilst checking out the info centre.
Back at the park, some tennis with dad, dinner and playing in the park with new friends.
Mount Gambier is definitely somewhere you could spent a good holiday.
The weather today still cooler than we are used to (for summer) expected to warmup in the next couple of days
