Last night we stayed in a traditional Japanese inn, a ryokan, outside the town of Tsumago, in the Kiso Valley. We found out the inn is nearly 200 years old! We had a delicious traditional dinner and rested peacefully. The delicious breakfast this morning was a blend of traditional and modern, and they mad allowances for Skye by giving her sausages instead of fish.

Our young host, Yoko, gave us and our bags to the bus station in Tsumago. We wandered in the town for over an hour exploring the picturesque village. The photo shown is a shop in the village.
