Well, it is getting on for over 5 months since our last trip away (a little side trip of farm sitting in Seville Vic) so who could deny us this little wandering of the great island of Tasmania, Scenery, fabulous produce, fresh air and exercise...hmmm not too sure on that one.
Wally has done the planning and the bookings so of course it will be delightful as always. A couple of Air BNB places which will be a new experience. Mostly to get apartments with self contained accommodation as we do like to cook for ourselves and not have to deal with too many people.
I personally am not looking forward to the trip on the Spirit of Tasmania across the Bass Strait. I do not get sea sick I just really do not like all that water underneath me and this is from one that snorkels and adores swimming etc. So my husband in his infinite wisdom has decided we will do a day crossing. His view being we can walk around and look at the ocean and enjoy it all. I think sleeping thru the whole thing preferable on a night crossing but we shall see. Also the cost was one of the factors in this equation. A special deal at $65 each for our bods, $25 each for a reserved reclining chair (we felt this may be a necessity over a 9 hour day) and $89 for the car to cross so all up we are looking at $538 for our return journey.
We decided not to take our beloved Gina as the roads are not conducive for caravans and the cost of taking her on the boat fairly expensive but she will be on the road again in April when we set off on the next 2017 adventure to Northern NSW but that is another story.
So will be chatting and blogging as of next week although we don't sail until Saturday 4 March so catch you then those that pay attention to me. xxx
