Yesterday Arthur and I had an early start (6am :( ) to get into the centre to do the Neighbours Tour Bus. I was pretty excited because I (like a loser) love neighbours! The bus driver knew way too much about the show, but one fact I remember was that 'Erinsborough' (the fictional suburb it's set in) is an anagram for 'or neighbours', never noticed that before. He also thought it would be funny to turn into Pine Oak court (Ramsay Street) really fast and managed to crash into some road works, and create skid marks on the street. We saw the original school they filmed at and went to the studio and saw the set for the mechanics and the police station and where paul was pushed off the roof top cafe! haha we then went to the street and Stingray - a character who used to be in it - came to see us so we got our photos with him and his autograph, so we saw all the houses and it was pretty cool haha, I can now say I've been there! When we got back into Melbourne, we went back to Queen Victoria Market because Arthur needed to find a present for his mum. We went to Hungry Jacks for lunch, a fast food chain all over Aus. I then went to meet Delia at her college, and then her mum picked us up and took us back to her amazing house, it is literally huge!! It was amazing! We then went along Glenferrie Road, and she showed me her school and we had something to eat, and stocked up on 'lollies' (sweets) for the game that evening. Her mum then dropped us at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where the ashes are held, and we met Arthur and made our way to our seats, I got my face painted with the colours of the team we were rooting for, and we were 2 rows from the front so I got some good pictures! It was Geelong vs Collingwood, and we wanted Geelong to win. They were losing the whole match, but got 2 marks in the last 10 minutes and Collingwood missed a goal, so Geelong won! It was pretty close, and much better than the last match, there were 81,600 people there and the match was a lot closer so much more exciting! The Collingwood team and supoprters are pretty hated by other teams as they're quite bad sports, always booing when the other team is trying to get a mark and cheering when they miss etc, and the Geelong supporters didn't do that at all! They then play the team song for whichever team wins, and it was pretty funny! 'We are Geelong, the greatest team of all' or along those lines! We then had a 20 minute wait to get into the station then another 20 to even get our train!! Peter kindly picked us up from there and we went straight to bed as we'd been up for 18 hours!
Today we didn't do much, had a bit of a lie in, the sun was out in the morning which was nice to see and we played scrabble, (I won). We went out to get photos of a koala and an echidna sign, and had to rescue a little dog which was on the road on the way back! We watched Megamind with the boys and Amanda cooked a really nice roast dinner! Have been craving one since I've been away. We then packed and watched tv this evening. I'm really excited for New Zealand tomorrow, but I'm sad to be leaving Aus, as I have loved it and really don't want to go! I will definately be coming back one day. (Not looking forward to going back to hostels either!) but Victoria has been my favourite state, I loved the Great Ocean Road and Melbourne is an amazing city, the centre was also incredible, and I want to do Western Australia in the future.
