The Merchants Of OZ!
We left Werribee South and stopped into see "The Mansion". This is a HUGE manor house, three storeys high with 60 plus rooms. Built in the 1870s it was home to one of the pastoral pioneers of the area. Fantastic the way it has been restored as it is now owned by Parks Victoria.
Next to the house is the State Rose Garden. This is planted out with over 5000 rose bushes of all kinds.
After lunch we headed north and have stopped to camp at Pioneer Bridges near Everton. This has big trees that seem to be ready made for caravans and it is right on the Ovens River. It has been really hot all day (and still is) so the swim in the river was really refreshing.
