Today is our last day in Lima and we had booked the bus for 2pm to take us to Cuzco. We had a parcel to post to the UK so had left this small task for the morning. Went back to downtown Lima today to see the changing of the guards at Lima Palace. Nick reckoned it looked like the Toy Soldiers in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang ( I wouldn't know as I cannot watch that film as the Child Catcher gives me nightmares) so I will have to take his word for it. Spent the day sightseeing in Lima our hostel manager kindly drew out a route for us with places to visit which was fab as we didn't have to think about anything. We visited the Cathedral first which was huge I've got to say the Catholic Church must have shares in Gold Leaf (my eyes were dazzled by the amount of gold!). Got to the airport early hours of this morning for our flight to Lima. We had to show our passports before check in and were told by the girl that our flight was overbooked and they were looking for volunteers to stay in Rio for one night.
