Woke up and had breakfast at the hotel. Nice breakfast room overlooking the river with crepes cooked to order!
Our first stop was the tailor to get some shirts made. We decided to go to Yaly as it was recommended to us. Spent about an hour picking out fabric for some shirts and then went to the nearby ticket booth to buy a ticket each to access some of the heritage sights around Hoi An.
Our first stop was the Duc An Old house which was an old Chinese house. We walked through the ground level, the upper level was a private residence. The next stop was the Japanese Covered Bridge which crossed a small canal that drained into the river. Inside the bridge was a small shrine and the entrances to the bridge were guarded by monkeys at one end and dogs at the other.
We then wandered down a nice, tree-lines street to the Cam Pho Communal House. We wandered around the temple area and had a go at beating the drum and the gong at each side of the temple. After this we decided to cross the river and have lunch at one of the small restaurants facing the river. Nice and cool in the shade with the breeze off the water. The only down side was the constant flow of street vendors trying to sell you postcards and sunglasses.
After lunch we crossed back over the river and visited the Hainan Assembly Hall which was decorated with plagues in memory of merchants killed when mistaken for pirates by the Vietnamese emperor. We then stopped at a free temple, the Hainanese Temple on the way back to the hotel for a swim, a rest and to pick up our laundry from Anh Vu.
After a brief rest we walked back into the old town to find an ATM and stopped at the last stop on our ticket, Trieu Chau Assembly hall which was another Chinese temple complex.
For dinner we again went to Ms.Ly's before returning to the hotel for the night as we had an early start in the morning for our day trip to My Son.
