On Tuesday we hiked to the top of Diamond Head, on extinct volcano at the other end of Waikiki. We caught a bus down to the crater then walked across the crater and up to the lookout at the highest point of the crater wall.
Very, hot, no shade and a very steep climb. It took us almost an hour to reach the top but worth it in the end with views over Waikiki and beyond. Much easier walking down but we did have the first injury of the trip. S grazed her elbow when trying to catch her hat after a passing car in the tunnel we were walking through blew her hat off. S hit her elbow on the concrete wall but some first aid (alcohol hand sanitizer and a tissue) ensured we both it back to the hotel.
We had a swim at the beach when we got back to the hotel and then to the pool to cool off. We then went around to the pool with the water slides but by the time we got there they closed the slides. S found a slide from one pool to another, it was about 2 meters long. It was just sad.
