Woke up at 4am and checked out of the hotel before catching taxi to the airport for our flight home. Long wait at the airport and flight delayed but eventually we checked in and were on our way home.

Today we flew back to Waikiki for a night before our early flight home tomorrow morning.We stayed at The Equus which was close to the Ala Moana Shopping Centre where we spent the afternoon shopping before walking into Waikiki for dinner.Returned to the hotel to pack and have an early night before our 5am taxi trip to the airport

Today was our last day in Waikiki. We spent the morning walking down Waikiki Beach then the afternoon ensuring we swam in every pool at the hotel, including the seawater lagoon and went on all four water slides. S even went into the lagoon although she looked like she was making her way through a minefield ensuring she did not run into any fish.We then packed for our flight over to the Big Island the following morning.

Today we went on our around island tour. Had to get up early and had breakfast at 5.30am. First stop was a lookout over Waimea Valley. Going up into the mountains the weather changed from hot and sunny to wet and cool. Great views over the valley. We then went to the Dole Plantation which grew pineapples and coffee. Sampled a pineapple whip which was like a soft-serve ice cream made from pineapple. Delicious. The next stop was a waterfall in Waimea Valley which...

On Tuesday we hiked to the top of Diamond Head, on extinct volcano at the other end of Waikiki. We caught a bus down to the crater then walked across the crater and up to the lookout at the highest point of the crater wall. Very, hot, no shade and a very steep climb. It took us almost an hour to reach the top but worth it in the end with views over Waikiki and beyond. Much easier walking down but we did have the first injury of the trip.
