My flight from Myrtle Beach, SC to Guayaquil Ecuador took 11 hours. I went from the Myrtle Beach airport to Charlotte, NC and then to Orlando then onto Panama City and the final landing in Guayaquil Ecuador. Amazingly my 2 big suitcases got there with me. Yes, I brought only 2 suitcases and a carry on travel bag. It is just amazing how little you can get along with in life.

I flew into Guayaquil because I wanted to then travel by car over to Cuenca and see the lovely country side and the beautiful Andes mountains.

It was a 3 hour ride and it was womderful. I saw rice fields, banana plantations, cocoa bean orchards, sugar cane fields, little farms nestled into the mountain sides. Driving up the Andes Mountains took my breath away. We just kept going up and up into the fog. The roads were well maintained.

I arrived at my Bed & Breakfast about 1:00PM. The Owner was there to greet me with a big hug and smile. She was very gracious and helped me to my room and then had lunch ready for me.

She only spoke a little English and I only spoke a little Spanish, so she brought out her laptop and went to "google translate" and we entered are questions and answers.

It was a great first day.
