The Simon Bolivar School offers Historical tours every weekend for $25.00. That includes a van, guide, lunch and tour of the historical site. We left at 9:00 am and returned at 5:00 pm.
I went on the one called, The Black Cave. According to studies and archeological discoveries, the origins of the first inhabitants go back to the year 8060 BC in the Cave of Chopsi. The Chopsi were here first and then came the Inca. The cave is called the black cave, because, when the chopsi lived in the cave they cooked on open fires and the top of the cave is black from the smoke. It was a lovely day of seeing the old stone walls of some of the Inca villages and the Museum had some artifacts of the cave dwellers and when they started farming the land and making tools and ceramic pots. You can see more pictures in the Photo album.
