Check out morning upon us already so taking advantage of the free breakfast buffet is a must- 500 peso worth if we can! still not over it, ha!- more fat fluffy hot cakes with maple syrup, papaya, melon and green tea and compliment where its due it was pretty yummy but free food always is #BITTER #GETOVERIT.
So another lesson learnt today, they are rolling in quick. We flagged a taxi from outside the hostel to take us to the ADO station (this is the Mexican main long distance bus) and what a surprise..the driver decides to give us a full city tour and charge us double, getting continuously ripped off is really frustrating and disheartening. From now on we use pre-paid station taxis or UBER only. UBER are a taxi app company here which is quoted and paid for before you're picked up (via secure PayPal), they know the destination and therefore de-touring isn't going to advantage them and they are with you in minutes, sounds pretty nifty. Unfortunately, jumping on the local Metro system with our massive backpack isn't allowed, so ADO all the way! Not complaining, it's known to be much more secure and is still reasonable.
Second stop is Puebla, a much smaller historical town just two hours east from Mexico City. The journey was pretty pleasant, loads of room, air conditioning, TV's (in Spanish) and so we took advantage of the time with a mini Spanish lesson from our handbook, goes us!!!
It's a 20 minute (pre-paid) taxi ride to our hostel which is located in the historical side of the city. This lead us straight through the more 'urban' areas of the city and into what seemed to be the slightly quainter, clean area. The hostel, again, in a perfect location, keeping us in strolling distance to anything of interest. It's a family run, clean, cultured, vibrant turquoise, pretty terrace hostel which goes by The Hostel Casona Poblana.

Dad and mum Do you miss the wheels? Mexico is such a large land mass-seems to go on for ever.If you were not totally streetwise before, you will be by the time South America beckons. Hope this latest rip off is the last you experience! Studying the travel line on your map with great interest-it is new ground for us. Guess the temperature is slightly easier, although as I recall the humidity starts to grow and grow as you move South towards Panama.. Where are you sending the bike Paul? We still have room if it helps and under instruction could possibly arrange for hospital treatment ready for your return. Let us know. Keep blogging and stay safe-love you both, Dad and Mum
