Unfortunately we have had to miss out one of our planned destinations (Merida) due to somehow being behind on time but couldn't wait to get to Cancun!! We stayed in the less touristy area the first night at a really pokey hostel and just got excited for the next day...we were we're going to what we had named 'hotel del a porter loo' Paul had booked my birthday up and I had no idea what was coming.

Mid afternoon of my birthday after we had had breakfast with Charlie and Hector who run the pokey hostel in Cancun we there got a taxi to the hotel. I think we were both as shocked as each other for it was absolutely stunning!! Right on the beach, everything was white and posh, a lovely pool right next to the sea and our hotel room balcony faced right out to sea. It was perfect and we were there for three nights. It was such luxury. We have birthday lunch in señor frogs where Paul tells me we are off to Coco Bongos with VIP tickets for the night; special seats and free drinks all night. I have been so spoilt. Opening all my families' cards and notes Paul had carried around for five months was great and even managed a quick Face Time. Must be the best birthday since I was about 10, feel so lucky.
