Up in Memphis bags to coach at 7:45. Pretty much a big ol day of traveling on the coach. We stop at Jackson for lunch and watch The Frog Princess on the bus. We finally get to New Orleans at about 5. We have a half hour bus tour where we see the cemeteries, the super dome, the river front, the street cars, the voodoo shops etc, etc. Then we get to our hotel the exotically named Hotel le Cirque! It seems to be located on the only roundabout in America. We quickly get ready and head out to the banks of the Mississippi to get our Paddle boat Cruise. The boat is called Creole Queen and is over 100 years old. We get a quick photo outside. When we board we go down stairs where we get served some traditional New Orleans food - jambalaya, green beans, Cajun fish, gumbo and bread pudding. It's all really delicious. So we cruise up and down the 'ssippi for a few hours while this 3 piece Jazz band play and we drink beer. We alight and head to a bar in the French quarter called Pat O' Briens where they're famous for a cocktail called "hurricane". Holy s*** it seems that the Americans do Irony after all! It's potent as hell so we only have one and watch these 2 brilliant dueling pianists before we meet back up with the group at the Fire water fountain (see the photos, it's awesome). Next we head on - world famous Bourbon st. Big ass beers (thats what they call them) and beads await. We head to the 544 Club where theres a Rap cover band playing and they're pretty damn good. Beck has a syringe full of frozen cocktail which a girls squirts to the back of her throat and beck coughs all over herself, well I was laughing anyway. Great night!
