Trailor on Tour
Still in Freo, but will be on the move again tomorrow, although only as far as central Perth as I have yet to visit it and do all the touristy things.
The hostel is very empty and quiet as many people I've got to know have moved on. There is one long term guest who makes me smile every time I see him. His name is Ross and he's Australian with one of the worst mulletts you have ever seen. For the young and trendy amongst you, he is the spitting image of a bloke from two Red Hot Chili Peppers videos - the one where the lead singer is kidnapped in a yellow cab and the one where the same guy jumps onto the stage during a live show. (For my older readers, The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a band from the US who are really rather good, if maybe somewhat loud for some of you). Anyone know the guy I'm refering to?
There is a market here every weekend, which sells local souvenirs, as well as fruit and veg. It is only on from Friday to Sunday, therefore if you time it right late on a Sunday afternoon you can pick up some bargains. This week mine consisted of a carrier bag full of carrots and parsnips for less than a quid! Carrot and parsnip mashed up together is one of my favourite foods and so have been living on it for a few days - the only thing missing from this culinary delight is the salad cream!!
Yesterday I also managed to buy myself a ticket for a concert next Tuesday in Perth by an American band called Live. They are big on both sides of the Pacific, but for some reason have never made it across the Atlantic. I 'discovered' them when I was in Canada 9 years ago and can't wait to see them, even though it is a bit sad to be going to a concert on your own!
On the 10th I fly to Alice Springs for a few days before flying out to Sydney on the 15th ready for Christmas. I haven't got an advent calendar this year, apart from the rude one I was sent via e mail - I must be getting old as I'm missing my chocolate one mum still buys me every year.
STILL no joy on the photograph front, but hopefully they will be more technologically advanced in Perth, although maybe not, as they have yet to get a Starbucks!! I'll keep trying. Sherry xx
