Trailor on Tour
Tragedy has struck - no sooner had I put my salad cream in the communal fridge, than someone knocked it out and smashed it! Back to the eternal hunt for the dressing that is NOT the same as mayonnaise, despite what they say in the shops.
Haven't been up to much as hanging around here seeing Lisa and Matt, but have managed to palm quite a lot of stuff I've acquired en route off on them to take back to England - Thank you both, my rucksack feels decidedly lighter.
Yesterday I had a really bad headache all day which would not shift, even with tablets, so decided to do something useful and got up to date with my laundry - even my trainers and day pack were washed. After all the perspiring I did in Asia, I thought it was only fair to disinfect everything I own and make the dorm aroma more perfumed.
There are 3 new girls in my dorm since I last wrote, all from England, called Becky, Jen and Siobhan (and all aged 21 - where are all the old people!). Last night we all went to see the latest Bridget Jones film and I was a bit disappointed - not so much laughter and too much soppiness, although the Thai scenes were great for me as I recognised some of them, but obviously not the jail scenes!
The previous evening I had a hair cut from Lacey - American girl - who is also in the dorm and as luck would have it, does barnetts back home for a living. Following this, and with my newly swishy locks, I learnt how to play a new card game, called sh*thead!! I also met someone a lot older than me for a change. I think he is probably old enough to be my father and comes from the Medway towns amazingly - he tries too hard to fit in with all the youngsters and just ends up looking and sounding like a pratt - high pitched laugh included. One of the other girls thought it would be amusing to tell him where I live back home and then I could not get rid of him - I take it all back, I'm quite happy with everyone being younger than me!
I have also had to endure the hype surrounding Australian Idol - I have already had the pleasure of Indian and Singapore Idols. No, I'm not joking, they really do exist and are equally as dull.
Today I bade farwell to Lisa and Matt, which involved breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea - any excuse for food. Lunch was at a micro-brewery calld Little Creatures and the food and beer was to die for. I may well be going back there again.
This weekend is the end of the Fremantle Festival, with a Reggae Beach Party tomorrow afternoon on South Beach, culminating on Sunday night with a parade through the city, so for news about these two upcoming events, please tune in later. S xx
