We're really luck because have huge king-size beds in the condo that are just wonderfully comfortable. There's also A/C as well as a fan in our room, but it's still a bit too hot to sleep under covers comfortably. Plus, the humidity (compared to Edmonton just makes you feel like you're swimming). So, even though we were horribly comfortable, we still woke up fairly early. At least, earlier than you're supposed to wake up during vacations. But we (Zach, my Mum, and I) ate a breakfast Danish before deciding to go for a quick jaunt on the beach before everyone else woke up.
I was just in my pajamas and sandals, which wasn't the best idea. My pants were pretty long and pretty hot, even if the sun wasn't up very far at that point. But the sandles were not meant for the hard/bumpy coral walking path. Surprisingly, we only saw a couple people on our walk, mostly we were out by ourselves. The sea air is just lovely, though, cleanses your sinuses. There were a couple terrifying parts of the walk, however, because at one spot, a dead tree had obviously turned into a home for a bunch of wasps, and they were coming and going. Got out of there quickly.
Found a hammock someone had strung up between a couple trees and sat there for a bit. Must be a nice life to live around here. Beautiful views, lots of wildlife, a hammock to sit and chill/read on. Man, what a perfect way to relax. Anaehoomalu point was actually pretty far up - it's right next to the GIANT Hilton complex that's up the way from where we're staying. We didn't bother to go check out the complex, just stood out on the point, then headed back. Halfway back we decided to go on a paved path back towards the house instead of the coral path. We walked though a volcanic pond area with a bunch of little fish swimming around. Apparently these pool as protected and a natural part of the islands ecosystem. Pretty neat.
