Day Four of The Inka Jungle Trek
The alarm went off at 3.50am as the girls in my dorm were walking up the steps, all 2002 of them with the rest of the group! Me and the tour guide were getting the bus :-) we had to start queueing at 4.40am for the first bus at 5.30am.
We passed the group on the way up, they did well bless them in an hour and 40mins, rather them than me!! The bus ticket was arranged by my tour operators as an energy conservation for me :-) I really wasn't complaining, when I saw the sweaty states of the others!!
Inside MachuPicchu our guide showed us around, the views were spectacular and the Inkas were very clever people! The way they have built the staggered supporting walls to stop the mountain from collapsing. Also, researchers have been unable to identify yet how they cut the stones, as no tool since has made the same presentation.
I tried to walk to the Sun Gate with the others but I ran out of time as I was on an earlier train. The train was very nice an comfortable, but they sure know how to use the air conditioning!
I finally got back to the hostel at about 7.30pm and was able to have a nice long hot shower and treat myself to a shave and moisturise! It felt so good to feel so clean :)
The places we visited on this trek are a lot lower than Cusco, therefore a lot lot hotter!
