June 24: Day 50:
Today was a full day because today was not only a driving day it was also going to be our last Gorge in WA. This one was a highly spoken about one, and it’s name is Emma Gorge. It wasn’t to far down the road from where we were camping. We arrived to find the parking area was full but we luckily found a spot. Mum was hoping that all these people were going to be walking out while we walked in. Lucky enough mum was right and by the time we got to the Emma Falls half the amount of people had left. The water was freezing because this spot got no sun all day but this was still extremely pretty. Also other people had told us that there were hot springs around the right of a boulder that was there. But before I went into the springs I swam over to the waterfall with lil, and we thought the water was going to be warm because the sun was on top of where the water was coming from. We thought wrong this water was just as cold as the big pool below. Lily pointed out that there was a vine hanging 2 metres off the water which if it was strong enough could’ve helped you climb up the waterfall. But the time had come for Lil and I to have a turn in the hot spring. This section of water was probably 10 times warmer than the waterfalls part. It was as if boiling water had been poured into the water. We couldn’t stay in there long because there were other people waiting, and this is when mum told me to take Cam over to the waterfall. So we did and Cam said that if he stayed there any longer he would’ve frozen to death. But he didn’t. The time came for us to leave but we didn’t have to go to far because we were going to have a swim in the Turquoise Pool which was just a few hundred metres behind. This pool was almost as warm as the hot springs and as the name states is Turquoise. We didn’t stay long because we had to drive 70 kilometres to a place called Kununurra. Here mum did a big shopping stock up, before we drove another 60 kilometres to the Lake Argyle Resort. It didn’t take long because we were finally driving on sealed road again. We arrived at 4:30 to find that the campground was full and that meant we had to drive back to Kununurra. Luckily this campground wasn’t full but we did have to set up in the dark. Because we’ve gotten used to setting up we set up really quickly. It wasn’t really a good end to the day but our beds have been waiting for us all day and we couldn’t let them wait any longer, so they were occupied within minutes.
