Hey everyone! Tommi and i have just arrived in Chiang mai after a terrible 12 hour bus journey! the bus was air condition at points of the journey which wasn't so bad but after a few hours it started to get fairly uncomfotable! after setting of at around 7 we made our first stop at 9.25pm, we were taken to a place on the side of the road that was just a sheet of metal over a few racks of crisps, wierd thai snacks and a fridge! it wasn't the sort of service station we're used to! we both got some crisps and jumped back on the bus, almost immidietly after leaving the stop we decided to try and have a sleep... so for the next few hours we were both tossing and turning in our seats and really not getting any sleep at all! i decided to listen to my ipod while tommi just sat next to me in a bit of a tired daze and after an hour or so we both managed to drift off for around 5 or 10 mins... we were then just chatting and before we knew it we were stopping again at another very remote stop, this place had more to it... by that i mean more flies and insects and hot food that for all we know could have been dog meat so we steared clear of it, they also sold pringles! so we both got some of those

at about half past 6 we pulled into chiang mai, we were dropped off by the coach at a petrol station and taken in a cramped van to the place we booked our trekk with. We stopped a taxi van on the street and asked him to take us to our hostel, which is called panda guest house, the driver took us to another hostel called panda house and it was a complete s***hole! i think would rather sleep on the street than in the hostel we were taken to so quickly we left and got a tuk tuk to the right panda place! and when we arrived a very nice lady greeted us and showed us to our room, its very nice here at the hostel better than rambuttri villiage and cheaper, it has cost us 600bt a night which worked out as 5 pounds each! when we got settled we had a sleep we planned to wake up nat 11 but then slept til 3.10 lol! we then came down to the lobby and ate at the hostel, food was good! we plan to go to the night market tonight as it has been reccomended by the lady at the hostel!
