from what we saw of phuket, it was pretty awful, however we only stayed there for one night as a stop over to catch a flight the following morning which would take us to bangkok.

i guess it didnt help that we didnt check out the beaches or anything, instead we arrived pretty late in the evening, checked into a cheap hostel and got some sleep for the intense amount of travelling we had to do the follwing morning, which included a flight from phuket>bangkok...about 7 hours waiting at bangkok international airport (to kill time we had a massage, read almost all the magazines in the book shop and ate 3 main meals to get rid of our thai currency) and then catch a 11hr flight from BKK to sydney
