Not too early a start. I woke to a nice cold shower and a simple breakfast buffet. We travelled by jeep to some nearbye accomodation. Bijaipur castle hotel. The name speaks for itself. It had once again exceeded our expectations of the accomodation.on arrival we walked through the main gates whilst being showered with petals! The rooms were big, and there was a nice pool aswell. A new skill I have learnt is to stealth swim up to pidgeons drinking at the other end of the pool... We relaxed mainly in the soaring heat. Everyone noticed I had tanned a lot in the hour and a half I had been in the sun?!!
Later in the day we were given a tour of the local town. This was a small culture shock, as the town was a very small poor town. We were allwoed to enter a local house. It was essentially an outdoor room which was shared with animals of all kind. This was scary, although all the people seemed extremely happy. We then went slightly out of the town to visit the farms. Here they were extracting opium seeds. It was interesting to see a young boy just munch down the drug. We then thought it was a good idea to try the plant used to make moon shine drink. This tour didn't last too long but it gave all an insight into the lives of those in the open parts of India.
That night we relaxed with some Tandi beers with Stu and Marie till late by the pool. Everyone else at the hotel was asleep including the staff so we were talking over nothing but candle light and moon light. It was fairly spooky sitting in near darkness in a castle.
