Today we were married by the lovely Kate, a local marriage Celebrant who just happens to be a Mental Health nurse! So we had a team up on Te Mata Peak, one of the most stunning locations I have been to and perfect for our special day. My best friend Treza was fantastic- she organised everything- 1st Class. Sean took the photos and Alfie wore the bow tie! The flowers were beautiful- Iris & Freesia in season here. To the east we could see wonderful views of the wavy coastline of Hawke Bay and the Pacific Ocean over the Tuki Tuki valley , and to the west were the Maungaharuru Ranges with the snow capped Kaimanawa Mountains in the far distance. For those of you interested, Google search Te Mata Peak for the Maori legend of the Sleeping Giant.
We went to the Mission Estate Winery for lunch- the oldest winery in New Zealand dating back to 1851. The mild climate and fertile soil are perfect for vineyards and orchards- great wine and apples!
A fabulous day.
