Had lovely christmas day in Laos, now curled up in bed watching Kings Speech, not the Christmas movie i was hoping for but better than the bizarre Thai soaps which seem to be on ever other channel!

After a bit if a disastrous morning of not being able to hire bikes we headed back to the hotel and enjoyed an afternoon by the pool with a bottle of red wine. The pool was freezing, as you can see from the picture i struggled to get in!

I then had a conference call with the family in various locations and of course got to see Smudge in his reindeer outfit!

We headed out for the evening for a yummy Christmas feast of Laos curry, fried morning glory (it's not what it sounds like!), spring rolls, stir fry veg and traditional mince salad.

On the way home we walked through the night market with a cup of hot chocolate, looking at all the clothes and crafts. I bought a hoodie for £4 as its pretty nippy here at night. We then picked up some vaguely christmassy cake - a spiced fruit pastry and a cinnamon bun and headed back to the hotel.

All in all, not a bad day, now where to spend new year...?
