After a weary jounrney across the border back into Chile we arrived in Pucon, a super pretty alpine style ski town. Quick stopover for coffee in the very coffee house where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid hid out for a month after robbing the Bank of London and then we pulled into El Chalten. This place is so tiny and so in the middle of nowhere, it makes El Calafate look like a veritable modern day metropolis. After refusing to board another 12 hour bus journey we took a cheeky one hour flight to El Calafate - still well south - but sadly no longer el fin del mundo. Bit of an odd town, very touristy with lots of woolly jumper shops and postcard stands, kind of in the middle of nowhere. Plus its only 80 years old and apparently men outnumber the women by 7 to 1!! Thats a different Gaucho cowboy every night of the week ladies...!Talking of gauchos, we went horse trekking...

Finally arrived at 10pm after a long 12 hour journey from Rio Galleogas....including a brief ferry across the infamous ship wreck Magellen Straits and four border crossings going in and out of Chile and back into Argie! But it was totally worth it......and we up staying for a week at the End of the Earth! Ushuaia is the world's most southerly town and the only place on earth where the mountains meet the ocean....it is absolutely amazing, just massive snow...

Arrived safe and sound after our overnight journey in Puerto Madryn which is a lovely little place right on the sea. Hired bikes and attempted to cycle 7km to a sealion sanctuary but were foiled firstly by the gravelly road, secondly by our severe lacking physical fitness and thirdly by Tim's flat tyre....so spent the afternoon wandering round the town and walking on the beach.....discovered this is where the first Welsh settlers arrived in 1865.
