Tim and Debbie's Travels....
Another train to Xian to see the Terracotta warriors and another walled city. Spent the first day mouching around with Simon and Magalie and had a huge Mongolian feast called fondue which is basically a bowl cooking on the table with a spicy and a mild side and you chuck in your favourite ingredients. Hmmm well tasty. Afterwards we stumbled across a beer festival in the park and spent the evening tasting the beers out of 2 litre glasses and constantly toasting with fellow Chinese revellers. There is a particularly dangerous habit here....when someone raises their glass and shouts Gambei, everyone must down their drink. No fail.
On Tuesday, we caught a local bus to see the warriors in the pits which was great and got mugged by some touts into buying some figurines for 8p instead of 4p, before heading back to the hostel for a chillled night of cards.
Said goodbye to our temporary tour guide Simon and Mag, as we boarded another train heading east for Shanghai. xx
