Tim, Chris and Edd´s And James's Long Ol' Adventur
Hey
Ok just a quickie cos gunna go watch a dvd in a mo.
I am at the Shaolin Monastry learning Kung Fu at the moment, well its no in the shaolin monastry but next to it. I'm in the mountains with the nearest civilisation about half an hour away by bus and the nearest main town over 2 hours away.
Neways live here is pretty cool. Training takes up almost all day of every day.
5ish - alarm goes off, ruthlessly karate chopped by vexated kung fu master
5.10 - alarm is persistent and refuses to acknowledge its fighting a loosing battle (alarm swatted across room)
5.15 - alarm feeling safe from the opposite corner triamphantly beeps its little tune. I (after a lot of muttering and cursing) get up.
6ish - go running and stretching for an hour. Usually run to the temple and over the mountains, brilliant scenery when not covered in mist.
7.30ish - eat chinese breakfast
8.30 - 11.00 Training - a lot of stretching (very very painful) where they partially rip your tendons.try doin the splits with a trainer pushing down on you shoulders with all his weight. Couldnt walk to good for the first 5 days after their stretching techniques. Rest of training doin forms and fighting and exercise stuff
lunch
3.30-6.00 - more training
dinner
8.00 - 9.00 - optional chinese lesson
In general its absolutely knacering tho am resting atm cos have hurt my knee fairly bad. Tried one of these no handed cartwheels and twisted my knee on landing. So after training again found it hard to move leg so reluctantly decided to see doc who spoke no english and decided to just give me some spray called 'Airosol' (doesn't smell as good tho) and some painkillers not on perscription in England for whatever reason.
Neways will add some more stuff soon about Beijing and stuff here but for now im off to see Jet Li kick some ass or Bruce Li or Jackie Chan - whatever it is it'll be a kung fu movie - you just can't get away!
