Tim, Chris and Edd´s And James's Long Ol' Adventur
hi,
So this is basically what we got up to in Bali which for me was one of the highlights of the trip so far.
After meeting up with two crazy Swedish guys and one Dutch bloke we decided to get some bikes to explore Bali the fun way. By deciding, I mean a conversation between the Swedish guys went as follows:
Carl: I don't know, maybe we have 50% chance of living
Friedrick: Hmmmm, yeah but 50 is better than 40
Carl: And 30
Friedrick: And even 20
Carl:So 50 not so bad huh. We go!
Of course this meant we had to get a license which was easily gotten from Denpassar police station after a few notes were slid under the table. This completly legitemate license with finger-print attachment (again more bribing to avoid 8 hour queue) enabled us to ride all types of motorbikes in Indonesia. This did not however take into account careless driving on our part (which has to be pretty bad compared to the other drivers out there) but was again remedied by you guessed it ........ more bribing.
Anyway, we had an awesome time just riding along seeing all the beautiful rice fields, climbing volcanoes, wreck diving, dressing up in sarongs to visit massive temples and of course the biking itself.
The island itself was a bit eerie as there were so few tourists even though there were hundreds of shops lining the beaches and every available bit of pavement. This meant crazy amounts of harassment which was annoying as they even came to the room we were staying in at many places. Still, in all it was wicked and I can only hope that we have as much fun as we've had here in all our travels.
Chris
