Hey I'm in a place called Kunming at the moment after returning from doing some trekking in Tiger Leaping Gorge which was really cool. Met up with some girls and spent some time travelling with them. They were great fun even if their persistent mothering, not to mention their made up stories about me, have kept me humble. We did some night time trekking in the gorge which was brilliant fun if a little hairy in places.(Happy Birthday Lilian! - just incase i forget tomorrow - means i escape your wrath! lol). My shoulders have also recovered since the trek after somehow getting nominated as the groups pack mule and carrying half the girls stuff! I did an extra bit of trekking after the girls left which was really cool, the path was cut into the rock creating a sort of 3 sided tunnel (floor, roof and the left wall) with the right hand side a sheer drop to rivers rapids below, at other bits i was climging over rickety, horizontally placed ladders spanning a few chasms with a healthy drop below. Since then ive bin to an old town called Dali which would have been really nice if not for the thousand one one chinese tour busses which took the little town by force. I headed out of te town on foot to see some famous pagodas (chinese style towers) only to by met with the 120 yuan entrance fee. thinking better of that i had a great time trying to find an alternative way in, unsuccessful but not in the least perturbed i ended up hanging half way over a wall with my camera peeking over the top to get a pic. Thats Dedication for you! After that i watched the england match after some uni students thrust a beer in my hand and sed 'world cup?' they spent the whole match laughing at Crouch and wondering how anyone can be so tall yet so thin.
