We had nothing to get up for today so we took advantage of this and had a lay in! After washing (hot showers again...score) and dressing we had our free breakfast of rolls with butter and jam and then set off into the city for another wonder....Mark has decided to buy badges for the countries we will be going to next so he can stop stressing about finding them every time we get somewhere new!.....we eventually end up in the Inca museum which was pretty interesting especially the parts that were in English, which was about every other exhibit, and there were also traditional Andean women weaving in the courtyard of the museum.
Opposite the museum were a few markets selling the usual traditional wares. Caught up in the excitement of it all we bought two large tablecloths/wall hangings and two place mats!!!!
After this we just kept finding all the markets and we (really I mean me) was now on a roll buying souvenirs and Mark was loving the haggling! We now also own a stone llama and sun god and a beanie each.....what else do I need?????
We head off to lunch at what claims to be the highest Irish pub in the world before we arrive back at the room puffing and panting...damn altitude! We have a quick rest before we head back out with the camera to stalk the traditionally dressed Peruvians for a good shot! Hopefully without paying.....it didn't really work out so we are just going to have to keep trying for that perfect free picture!....although we did splash out on a Starbucks and a £5 an hour massage which was so good and at some points so painful it bought a tear to my eye....
We meet Ray for dinner and he takes us to a Jewish sandwich shop...random! The sandwiches are really good but I think Mark needs another 5 to satisfy his hunger! Then it's off to the pub for a beer and some enlightening conversation before we head back for the early start tomorrow.
