As we used the same bus company as before we thought we would be travelling in luxury. We had the pillow, wifi, blanket, reclining seats, but not the road!! As Cuzco is 3000m above us the road zigzagged all the way, or the driver was drunk. We literally was flying from one side of the seat to the other depending on which way the bus turned. Minimal sleep. We both woke up tired and feeling sick. Stevie eventually was sick in the toilet while simultaneously passing wind, while I fell back to sleep. Two movies later we were in Cuzco by midday. We grabbed a taxi to the main square 'Plaza de Armas' where we assumed all the hostels would be. We wasn't wrong. There are loads. We managed to find a nice cheap hostel just off of the square, and it was only our second hostel we tried. We have our own room and en suite, hot water, wifi and breakfast for £14....Result!!! Stevie still feeling sick from earlier has gone to bed. While I venture out to get money and sort out our Machu Picchu visit. Within the space of 2 hours I have moved our train tickets to Machu Picchu to Wednesday, brought our entry ticket, gone to the bank and most importantly I have managed to get a Venezuela patch for my bag! Most of the shops here have every country patch you can think of!! I was in ore!!
Everything sorted I head back to the hostel with a Maccy Dees for Stevie and I.
I nickname the Plaza 'American Square' as it has McDonalds, KFC, Starbucks, Dollar exchange and is clean and crisp.
We do some laundry, have a brief look around the town and by a Peruvian jumper each before chilling at the hostel, listening to music and sowing on my Peru patch. In the evening we head to a English restaurant 'Real McCoy' Pie and Chips later. We head off for an early night after arranging to meet Ray tomorrow for dinner.
