Our train is booked for 7.45am, so we woke up around 5am to pack, get washed and head to the train station. We needed to get there 30 mins before.
We arrive and order expensive gross coco leaf tea, only the pan de chocolate hides the taste. We realise that we are not sitting next to each other, but luckily the guy who is next to me wants to swap with Stevie so we end up together in the end.
The train is built like an old stream train. Blue with Peru rail on the side. We get free snacks and a drink. The train journey is around 3 hours. The views are amazing. In the distance you can see the snow covered tops of the Andean mountains.
Arriving in Aguas Calientes, the town is nestled below several mountains. We make our way through the market and over the bridge and into the town. We have a reservation for a hostel on the main strip. Luckily it was very easy to find. Our room is nice and the shower is huge, hopefully it is hot. After checking in we head to the main plaza to book our bus tickets for tomorrow. After finding the exact place where the bus picks us up we head to a restaurant for lunch. Back at the room, we have nothing to do so I venture out for another massage which was amazing! Hot rocks, music, oil, the lot. While Stevie reads her kindle.
We have a powercut so we can not charge anything, so we head out with our chargers and get a beer while using the restaurants power point.
We decide to have dinner. This place is over priced and the food is rubbish. As we want to make an early start tomorrow and try and get one of the first buses, we head back to the hostel to sleep. It's 7pm.....
