We arranged to meet Maguel and Mercedes at their hostel at 9am, so we packed up as quietly as we could as the rest of the dorm was asleep. We stopped off for a costa coffee breakfast, ready for the drive.
All for of us and our dwarf size backpacks managed to squeeze into the their hired vauxhall corsa. Kindly and luckily Mercedes left me sit in the front. Which was great because I get car sick pretty quickly.
The drive over to Sozopol went really quickly. It was about 300k away and we managed to do it in about 3.5hrs. Stevie miraculously didn't fall asleep and we ended up chatting the whole journey.
We arrived in Sozopol just after 1.30pm. Parked the car and wandered around the old town looking for a place to sleep. We managed to find a hostel 300m from where we parked. Result. 10 euros each we checked in to the random 7 bed dorm. A quick slice of pizza later we jumped on the bus to the recommended Golden fish beach as the beach here was to touristy!!
The bus only took 5minutes and we were ready to indulge in the offering of the Black Sea. We spend the rest of the day here, swimming, sunbathing and boob spotting. The sand was soft and the sea was so warm. It's the best sea I have been in, in a long time. I loved the temperature and calmness and spend most of the time in the water.
As the sun was setting we headed to one of the beach bars and ordered a couple of rounds of some local ice cold beer......ahhh this is the life. Where you sit back and take in the moments.
Not wanting to miss the last bus and a little tipsy we got one of the last buses back to the hostel. The old town was a lot busier now, we watched an outdoor singing show which we found funny. Heading back to the room where the remaining beds where occupied by 3 Bulgaria girls. We freshened up In the shower which was above the toilet, soaking the complete room and loo roll in the process then headed out for dinner, opting for kebabs. We walked around the town before heading back for some well deserved sleep.
