For some reason I keep waking up early ad freaking out that we have slept in to long, only for me to realise that it is only 7am. The Lonely Planet didn't show much to see in Pristina so I decided to relax and head out later. We eventually got ready and headed out after taking advantage of the free breakfast and coffee. We headed to the Mother Teresa Boulvard to see the sites, restaurant and bars again lined the streets, It was alot quieter than last night. There were random statues around that we could not identify. We did see the Mother Teresa statue and the impressive Skanderbeg statue.
We couldn't find a tourist office so decided to look for the sites ourself. The Lonely Planet didn't mention the 'New Born' Monument which we only discovered later. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to see it. A bit gutted as it looked really cool and a great symbol.
We ended up wadering around all these back streets, one street went on forever with no turning and every shot was a car wash company. We named it appropriately Car Wash Street.
After a huge detour we managed to get back to the Mother Teresa Square where the hostel was. We stumbled across the architecturally interesting national library of Kosovo, that has like as metal web mesh covering its structure. Next to it was the old faith mosque that over time has created its own character has the nature has started to over grow and consume its brick shell.
I managed to find a charger for my phone for only 3 euros in town which was a result as my old one randomly stopped working. We stopped off for lunch in one of the caffe just off of Mother Teresa square before chilling back at the hostel and getting to know the other guests.
By the evening we had made friends with everyone in the hostel, a guy from Switzerland 'Louis', a couple from Norway 'Emily & Raven' and Argentina 'Miguel & Mercedes', a Tiawan guy 'Lin' and an Irish girl. We drank beer and hada few deep conversations which was cool. We all decided to head out for a meal together. I think it was the biggest meal we all had for a long time. We finished the night with a few more beers at hostel discussing how Lin meet this local girl that he had fallen in love with the night before. It was hillerious. We all exchanged blogs and travel contacts before heading to bed.....
