6.30am, bread and jam for breakfast. First stop was a random train track that connected Bolivia and Chile...and then we drove for hours to Ollague Volcan, a random volcano that borders Chile. We were quite far from it seeing as we have seen loads of volcanoes and actually climbed one this was nothing but a toilet stop. Hopefully the next sight is better.
We then headed to Laguna Cachi to see flamingos, we stopped here for lunch where we were joined by a family of mice.
We head to Arbol de Piedra which is a stone in the shape of a tree. It was worth a photo, but not amazing. It was basically a rock that had worn away more from the bottom than the top. Everyone took a photo and then walked away. No one stood in awe. I was beginning to think they would just add anything to make this a 3 day tour until we finished the day in South West Bolivia at Laguna Colorado a bright red lake with pockets of snow like islands. The most impressive sight of the trip so far. It's amazing that this lake glows bright red. It's like an epic battle has taken place and all that remains is the blood dyed water of the fallen. Our guide claims its the algae, but he hasn't had much knowledge about the rest of the sights so a google search will be in order.
We take a closer look. The lake is home to 3 species of flamingo. The edge home to alpaca and llama. Our next lodge sits just off of the lake. We spend the night here. Again with the electricity only powered up for 2 hours between 7-9pm. Tonight we got spaghetti bolognas and a bottle of wine. The Belgiums didn't want the wine so Stevie and I polished the bottle while guarding my charging phone from others that wanted the rare plug point. 3 times someone tried to unplug me!!! Europeans! Just before lights out we headed to bed for an early start tomorrow....
