Up early this morning for final drive to get us to Dar Es Saleem - our final one nighter of putting up tents before our 4 night sojourn in Zanzibar. Having completed nearly 4 weeks on the road with no incident - within 90 minutes of leaving camp we had seen 3 road accidents involving trucks. Quite what the issue with that stretch of road was we aren't sure. The final one was blocking traffic so David had to negotiate metal roads through a country village to get us around it.

We reached the edge of Dar Es Saleem at 1445 ... it took nearly 90 minutes to negotiate traffic before we were through an en route to our beautiful beachside campsite. We celebrated with our first swim in the Indian Ocean. Tessa thoroughly enjoyed fresh seafood for dinner whilst I became vegetarian for the evening!
