Our final day in Tanzania was made up of 13 hours driving. We were up at 0415 hours to depart before Dar Es Saleem traffic kicked in. As we left the city and continues onto main highways across the country we witnessed some non- exemplary driving, particularly by coaches (and there were many of them) overtaking trucks and then suddenly pulling in as on-coming traffic appeared. David had to swerve a few times to avoid collisions. We saw 3 accidents and were surprised there weren't more. The cover photo shows the Tanzanian version of "road kill".
We stopped for breakfast at a local gas station where Ali got us warm chapati. Lunch was also a stop at a local restaurant where we both had the omelette with chips. We finally arrived at he Old Farmhouse which is a lovely campsite at 1830 hours. Dinner was soup followed by roast beef - delicious!
