This morning we went for our first fitting everything looked just how we imagined, they just needed to be taken in a little, we rented the motorbike out for another day so we took a detour around the ancient town again because it's just so damn pretty and we wanted to find the Japanese bridge. After searching through winding roads we managed to find it, it was really old and ancient (ironic) it was pink and pretty as well but you had to pay to go over it because it was a monument with a temple in it.. How bizzare! We weren't paying to walk 10 metres over the bridge so we stood at the end of it and looked through it. After a wander around we headed 20km north up the coast just outside of Danang to the marble mountains, they were 5 random mountains next to the sea made of marble obviously, we were too lazy to climb the steps (well Scott was) so we took the lift, but that only took us a quarter of the way up! After that we had to walk up and down the steps on the mountain, it had about 4 huge caves on it which was rather bizarre!
The viewpoints were an asthma attack waiting to happen but we managed the vertical climb and the views were spectacular! We could see the ernormous beach that ran for miles, Hoi An and Danang city!
The beach was nice but windy so the fine sand was blowing everywhere and we couldn't go in the sea because I forgot the towels, because I can't remember everything All of the time! So we went back to the pool and chilled out there for a while, it's gets cooler here about 3.30-4 compared to down south. You can tell your heading north of the country because the seasons change and are more like our seasons (obviously more extreme) with their spring/hot season being 30 degrees minimum by 10am.
This evening we went for food in the ancient town with some of the guys we met in Dalat, they're only here on holiday so it will be the last time we see them as they're having to whizz up north due to time shortage! the first place had 3 dishes on the menu and only pork so we all left and found another little cafe in one of the side streets, we look for plastic seats and metal tables, always a good sign of cheap food!
Majority of us at Pho Bu (beef rice noodle Vietnamese soup) the cook had to go out and buy it all for us to cook, haha!
The town looks so pretty at night with all the streets lit up purely by Chinese lanterns. Again photos will never give it justice.
We had a late one tonight! We didn't get to bed until midnight because we were gassing so much!
