This morning we went and done something before Sarah and mike left for their mammouth bus journey to Hoi An; we went to the cable cars over south of Dalat, the views were immense, over all the monkey trees and flower plantations. You could see all the mountains and through the valley down to some other towns. At the other end there were some female monks dressed in lilac, shaven hair and eye brows! They were all climbing the steps into some temple, the grounds were filled with flowers that smelt lovely! We walked around the temple and avoided going in and headed down to the lake where we found pedalos! 'Lurrrv swans' but no they were luv chickens, doesn't have the same ring to it!
We were the only ones on the lake, it was peaceful apart from me and Scott shouting at each other saying go left or right or more power!
After half an hour we were beat and tried to park the chicken but it was proven to be difficult because Scott had to be different and reverse in only he wasn't listening to me when I said we won't be able to get out or tie the pedalo up because the rope and the way off is in the front; so the man got his big stick out with a hook on the end and turned us around.
We headed back for Sarah and Mike to catch their bus, the taxi dropped us off outside 'anh son' hotel for us to hire mopeds. The lady that owned it was crazy Annie's sister so they're helping each other out all the time!
We had the bike for $5 and went out to find elephant falls which is the big famous one around here even though it's 25km away, on the way we drove through all sorts of flower and strawberry plantations, the smell was incredible between all the varieties! The views were even better of all the rice fields and mountains, no wonder everyone is happy up here in the hills they live in such a beautiful place and still have the hot weather!
After about an hour of driving and a few put stops to ask the locals if we were going in the correct way, we arrived a tour destination! The waterfall was huge, you could feel the spray of the water coming up over the cliff at you, the river that led to the waterfall wasn't even that deep or wide considering the amount of water was falling from it! We climbed down the rocks which had hand rails cemented onto them and some stepping stones moulded to the side of the boulders but other than that it was a pretty steep and tricky climb!
We weren't there long before Scott tried to be jungle boy and jump over all the fallen rocks which were huge and all shapes, it was inevitable he would hurt something with just flip flops on! He jumped into a pointy rock and hurt his heel which was clever!
Managed to hobble away, we took another route, a bit of rock climbing was in order to reach the hidden cave which would lead you to behind the waterfall, that was pretty cool even though we got soaked!
We got recommended a restaurant outside of the waterfall area by a Vietnamese women but I'm pretty sure we went to the wrong restaurant afterwards. Scott pulled up at this house with two tables at the front, the lady said yes and run away. We were left with the little girl playing barbie on the television. The old bird brought out beef and rice noodle soup after about Fifteen minutes, it was lovely and so cheap! Although I realised after we left that we hadn't gone to the restaurant the lady recommended, we went to someone's house! Haha!!
Once we got back into town we went up to the flower garden, aw it was so nice there! The mixture of smells and they were all so bright! It was a nice stroll around, I wanted to pick them all!
We got back at the hostel around 4pm and had a shower before everyone got back from canyoning and used the hot water up. Scott wasn't hungry after a few drinks but at 8pm I had a pain in my stomach I was that hungry and we had to take the motorbike back aswell so he had no choice but to go out. We went in some little restaurant and stuck out like a sore thumb because we were the only western people in there, so we weren't on priority to be served. Scott had the grilled beef, he had to cook the beef himself on a clay pot BBQ that he had on the table, I wanted the same but with chicken and it came already cooked with the bones on it, it was disgusting so good job I order morning glory because I couldn't eat that rubbish!
When we got back I went to bed early because I was shattered and wasn't in the mood to mingle tonight so Scott went out with Chris and Ollie and went to a bar with everyone. I was out for the count when they got in at 12am.
