Our time in Dallas is coming to an end; another city down - it's going so fast!
Dallas is a really nice city it has some cracking landmarks and it very green despite the blistering heat which is unbearable and even hard to walk in, it feels like you have a weight on your shoulders and your really short of breath all the time. Felt really safe here, they always have police officers riding around on bicycles near enough on every corner and some police officers have the privilege of segways, haha they look so funny riding around on them in their helmets.
We woke up late this morning, checked out at 12 midday and went to look for some clothes shops but lonely planet lied to us and there wasn't anything near only a really expensive what we would call a house of Fraser, only the dresses in there were averaging out to be $2000-8000 bit out of my price range I'm afraid.
We went and had good in the west end area down by our hotel, it's a really nice atmosphere there with the red brick buildings and cobble stone roads. We ate in YO Ranch, we both had a salmon and spinach dish with onions almonds and dried cranberries, it was lovely but very filling considering it was mostly leaves! Facetimed the lovely rents and then went back up to the pool to chill for an hour or so before we catch the megabus to San Antonio!
*something I've noticed, their billboards and advertisements in buses and trains don't say, check your belongings or keep an eye out for thieves. They say do not touch an unattended bag, please report straight to transport director/driver. Very aware of the fact of terrorism here. Something we wouldn't think to put on billboards at home, I know I haven't seen anything like that*
The bus isn't too cold this evening, I've got my big towel over my legs though so that's may be making the difference! We travel through the middle of nowhere again! Just the odd ranch or small town we pass through. First stop was Austin, and then we headed onwards to San Antonio; the bus was quiet then so I manage to kick Ross onto another seat so we had two each :)
Reached the destination, plenty of taxis waiting to take us everywhere, we pulled up at a parking lot though so Monday morning is going to be a little creepy in the dark.
The hotel was right in the middle of the river-walk, we found out where everyone was hiding in Dallas - they're in San Antonio! Haha. It's packed here everywhere. The is loads going on, music, live Mexican and Spanish bands coming around people's tables at the restaurants, bear enough all the trees had lights hanging from then which was really pretty! The riverboat cruises where still going at 11pm! San Antonio is beautiful at night! We went in a little restaurant for a bite to eat and a drink, it was a lovely setting to just sit outside next to the water and watch the world go by! We got back to the hotel at around 12am. (Dirty stopouts) our hotel is lovely, it's really old and authentic, we have a communal balcony as well :)
*still find their fashion funny, the girls have mini skirts and dresses on with cowboy boots and men have their maverick cowboy hats on with boots under their jeans, they must be absolutely boiling in this heat that's all I can say!*
