Early morning, earlier than yesterday for today's hike of the "path of the gods" also known as "Sentiero Degli Dei". I couldn't get into the restaurant where I had a bag of breakfast - Damn door! Oh well onwards to the bus stop to Almalfi and then a new bus back up into the mountains to Agerola - Bomerano to begin my walk.
Got to Bomerano for just before 8AM, found a water shop in the town and tried to beat the few crowds of people doing the hike so not to get stuck behind them.
I really was expecting it to be a lot more difficult than it actually was. A lovely straight forward path trailing around the side of the mountains with at times sheer drops down to the road or coast below but the views were absolutely breathtaking! What a scene!! I couldn't believe it.
Photos were absolutely not giving this place justice no matter how many angles you try and get. You just had to soak it all up, the mountains or cliff edges were incredible scenery too. The hike was only around 7KM and don't get me wrong it did get your heart rate up a little but not half as much as if you were walking the other way because we went down hill more than up - silly b******s not reading the travel blogs or Google God before hand.
I had finished by 9:30AM and reached the small hill town of Nochelle, found a little fresh juice stand called Lemon Hut where I got freshly squeezed lemon juice, he was very happy I was his first Welsh customer that I got the last of all the Almalfi Lemons and not the tiny (normal sized) sore to lemons. I was taking it as a bonus not just about the lemons more so to the fact he knew where Wales was - FINALLY! Someone who knows where Wales is and in fact UK. Not mistaking UK for Ukraine or the USA.
I took the wrong turning out of the square so instead of going up to the bus stop I thought the centre of Nochelle was down a few steps… very very bad mistake. Without exaggerating I climbed down about 1500 steps and my knees knew about it. This route was taking me to the main road that came out between my hotel and positano. Greaaaaat. Not what I had planned but non the less there was no going back, I just smiled and thought you daft idiots to those walking up them. They have a long way to go if they're doing the path of the god's, they won't be able to feel their legs by the time they get to the start of the actual trail.
Breakfast finished at 10:30 but I what's app them and they held out for me to get back to the hotel which was kind of them. After that I needed to shower before going to a beach or doing anything but instead I made the most of the balcony and chilled out there for the afternoon as I was beaching tomorrow anyways.
The evening I went into Positano on the bus for dinner and unfortunately sat not far from two VERY loud and 'extra' Miami women, one I found out was half Palestinian, they thought they were the dogs b******s and I can confirm they absolutely were not. I'm not going to divulge but no one wants to see what you had for lunch and your in a restaurant put a top on instead of coming out of the house in your bra that resembled dental floss with two pieces of toilet paper covering your nips.
There were quite a few rather relieved faces when they left the outdoor restaurant let's put it that way. Eventually ambience was restored.
