Sunday 27 April
Yesterday we rode from Watkins Glen to Fairport, Near Rochester to find Dennis and Cookie who we had previously met at Lewis Mountain Lodge in the Shenandoah National Park and, with not much effort, we landed right at their doorstep.
Dennis and Cookie live in a wonderful house which is nearly 100 years old and was originally where Dennis grew-up. The trees on their street are all in bloom making us all feel very spring-like and generally Fairport seems like a very nice place. We had a little tour of the areas around Fairport and walked through Durand Eastman park and stood on the shore of Lake Ontario. Just a really nice day.
Dennis and Cookie are wonderful people and we feel like we have known them for ages, they have very generously made us feel very welcome in their home. We will be staying here for a few days to enable us to arrange to sell the bike and then sort out how we head into Canada for our flight from Toronto to the UK.
